This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It provides Learners with an opportunity to demonstrate their competence within a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas.

This qualification is suitable for those who work with children and young people in a supervisory or senior role.

A total of 65 credits are needed for this qualification to be achieved.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.

You complete eleven mandatory units at level 3:

  • Principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings

  • Understand how to safeguard the well-being of children and young people
  • Support children and young people’s health and safety
  • Develop positive relationships with children, young people and others involved in their care
  • Working together for the benefit of children and young people
  • Understand how to support positive outcomes for children and young people

Social Care

  • Assessment planning with children and young people
  • Promote the well-being and resilience of children and young people
  • Professional practice in children and young people’s social care

Learning, Development and Support Services

  • Support children and young people to achieve their education potential
